horse lessons

Kimee was dying for spring to come so she could start back up with her horse lessons. The weather has been very temperamental, but we have been able to get in several great lessons. These pictures were taken at their first one this Spring, on April 19. My girls LOVE horses!

Easter

I just realized I never got the Easter post finished! Well, we still have Eater eggs roaming the house, so it mustn't be too late :)

We had a fun Easter weekend. On Saturday, we went to HeeHaw Farms for an Easter egg hunt with our friends, the Foxes.

We had fun on the hayride.
Dave, Kimee, Audrey, and Katelyn

Brandon, Amy, and Maddi

The kids loved the baby animals.

That afternoon, we colored Easter eggs.

Kimee and Audrey named all of their eggs.

Saturday night the Easter bunny came to our house early! He left a note saying he had a really busy night and had to come early. The girls were thrilled. They FINALLY got Pillow Pets.

On Easter Sunday, the girls did not wear matching dresses for the first time ever. They didn't notice or care. But there was one family at church that said something to me about the girls not matching. They were in the same situation, it was the first time they didn't wear matching clothes to church as well. So I didn't feel as bad. . . and I'm glad someone noticed!

On Sunday evening, we had a lovely dinner at my brother's house. Grandma and Grandpa sponsored an egg hunt for the kids. Fun was had by all.

Mother's Day

We had a wonderful Mother's Day weekend. And this is one of my presents to myself- getting the blog updated on time!

On Saturday morning, we worked in the yard redoing our front flower bed and getting a bunch of petunias planted. I was in heaven working in the yard with my kids running around playing.

Then we picked up Dave's mom and went out to brunch at IHOP. It has become a tradition now, going there with her, and my girls absolutely love it.

After IHOP, we stopped by Dave's friend from work dad's animal farm. Cheryl just happened to be there at the time. They had a baby kangaroo that we got to hold and pet. How fun! Thank you, Cheryl for letting us see your turtle, Herman, as well. These kids love animals!

The rest of the day was wonderful and relaxing as the kids watched a movie, napped, and played outside some more and I worked on laundry and projects.

This morning, Sunday, my parents came to church with us. We got to listen to the primary kids sing so beautifully and the men sang amazing as well. It was a wonderful program. After church we had lunch and then took our annual Mother's Day pictures.

Every picture, someone isn't looking quite right. But I had to add this last one because Maddi is actually smiling big! Grandpa was doing bunny ears on daddy (Dave) when he was taking the picture.

Kimee is always such a good sport for getting her picture taken. She is so responsible and such a good big sister. I love you so much, Kimberly! I am so glad I got to be your mom.

We had all decided to wear pink today and Audrey was wearing a beautiful pink dress, matching Maddi. Right when it was time to head out the door, Audrey freaked out that her dress was bugging her. So we had to do a quick change and ended up being a few minutes late. (Luckily, Grandma and Grandpa had taken up the other girls so they were on time.)

Audrey is so much fun! I am so glad she is in our family. She makes me smile, she loves to cuddle, and she has such a big heart. Audrey, I am so glad I am your mom. I love you so much!

Maddi did not have any interest in getting her picture taken. She just wanted to run around the yard. So I had to chase her down, snatch her up, and try to get our picture taken. I love you so much, Maddilyn! You are full of energy and learning so much every day. We couldn't live without you!

I just want my girls to know that I love being a mom and that I'm doing the best that I can to be a good mom.
