Audrey

On Sunday, July 10th, Audrey broke her arm. We were about to take Swicey for a walk up to the church. Audrey wanted to get a head start and started running down the sidewalk super fast. Audrey tripped and fell and must of landed on her hand/wrist. The rest of us were still in the house getting our shoes on. All of the sudden we heard very loud screaming. The first thing Audrey said when we got out to her was, "I broke my arm." She must have heard or felt something happen, or else the pain was so bad, because she knew it was broken. We put some ice on it, wrapped it up, and gave her some Tylenol. But in the night, she was in a lot of pain. Monday morning first thing we took her into the doctor. Sure enough, she had a small buckle fracture on both bones in her left arm. Almost identical to what happened almost exactly 4 years ago.
waiting for the doctor to come in...

Later that week, again waiting for a really long time for the doctor to come in.

 Getting her cast on...
Thank goodness for waterproof casts. It hasn't slowed her down much and she has still been able to enjoy summer.

Kimee

Kimee loves horses so much. She really wants to get her own horse when she is a teenager (which her dad says is not going to happen). In the meantime, she has been going to horse lessons every week this summer and loving it (Audrey goes too.)
This week Kimee got to walk Seven out to the grass for her treat. Kimee also learned how to get her to back up.

Summer Fun- July

We have been having so much summer fun, I just haven't taken the time to post it all. I am truly enjoying this time with my kids. It has been wonderful.

Maddi had her first teeth cleaning at the dentist.

This one is Audrey.
Kimee got some bad news, that she had to have two teeth extracted. I was NOT happy about that.

Yummy, yummy corn on the cob. Only better when it's from our own garden.

And lots of time spent picking, making, and delivering raspberry jam.

Kimee had lots of fun making jam.
She was able to do almost all of the steps with very little help from me.
This was one days worth. We did four batches this day.
We did about 12 batches of jam total, each yielding between 3-4 pints. Plus we made raspberry shakes, lemonade, and even sold a gallon of raspberries that we picked but didn't have time to do anything with.

We had a candy stand again this summer. This year we did it every Wednesday in July. We had a really good turnout the 1st and 3rd weeks, and the others were a little slower. Thanks a million to everyone who came. It was really fun for us and hopefully for everyone else too.

One more round of swimming lessons. Kimee and Audrey are both getting pretty good. Maddi can't wait to do them next year.

4th of July

We had a fun time on the 4th of July. We went to the big parade, as usual, with the Smiths and a lot of friends.

The girls LOVE their cousins, and were so happy to get to spend some time with Hadley.

Kimee and Blake got to go up and break boards in a karate demonstration.

We had a bit of a scare right at the end when we were packing up to go. Maddi walked off and we didn't realize it for several minutes. I started walking towards the car to look for her, and then kept going straight. I found her across the street, actually walking back towards where we were. She was pretty far away amongst TONS of people. When I found her, she was not crying or anything. She said, "Mom, I lost."

Before going home, we went to Brick Oven and had a delicious lunch, and drank TONS of rootbeer :)

Nothing like a good nap on the hammock :)

Later that night, we did sparklers, which the girls LOVED! We watched TONS of fireworks from our porch, and then some more from our neighbors lawn.

Happy Independence Day, USA!

Kimee and Audrey's Birthday

We had SUCH a fun day on Kimberly and Audrey's birthday. This year we chose not to do a party, but instead let them each choose a fun activity. Audrey chose Kangaroo Zoo and Kimee chose makeovers. Jill and her kids spent the day with us, so that added to the fun. Kimee got to choose breakfast for the day, which was pancakes and eggs. Then we went to Kangaroo Zoo and had lots of fun jumping.

Jackson and Jeremy had lots of fun too!

We came home and had Audrey's choice for lunch, which was Stirum and bacon. Then the little ones went down for a nap while I took Kimee and Audrey to get "makeovers". They both got a haircut and their nails done. Kimee got highlights and Audrey got a special hairdo. To top it all off, they both got glitter in their hair. They were both SO beautiful.

After hairdo's, we got Maddi, went to pick up Daddy from work, and went to the mall. Each of the girls used their birthday money from Grandma P. at Build-a-Bear Workshop. Kimee got a swimsuit and Audrey got a white dress that she said is her baptism dress. Maddi got a dog named Fudge. Thanks Grandma! We had a little time to spare, so we stopped at See's for a few treats. Kimee was excited to spend her change from BABW.

Then we went to Pirate Island for dinner. Janna and her kids were able to come, along with Jill and my parents. We ordered a huge 2 foot pizza (which we had been wanting to get ever since we saw someone else with it the first time we went to Pirate Island), breadsticks and appetizers. It was very yummy. It happened to be Karaoke night, which added to the fun. Dave amazed everyone when he went up with Kimee to sing Justin Bieber's "Baby".

They recognized Kimee and Audrey's birthday and had everyone sing to them.

We had a quick ending to the party when Jeremy ran into the salad bar at full speed, hit his eye socket and had to go to the doctor to glue the cut. When we got home, Kimee and Audrey had their special cupcakes.

They were so excited to open the cards they got in the mail from Grandma P.
They used their money to buy build-a-bear outfits.

A couple days later, they got their presents from Grandma and Grandpa K.

It worked out good because they had lots of fun while Grandma helped them with their new art kit.

Happy Birthday Kimberly and Audrey! I love you both so much and look forward to many more fun birthdays with you :)
