cute stuff

A couple of mornings ago Maddi woke up very groggily and said, "Mom, turn off the lights." She asked me several times, impatiently. I told her it was morning and that I couldn't turn them off. She was very upset, "I don't want it to be morning, I want it to be night still." Amen to that. How many times do you feel the same way?

Audrey hollered out with joy, "Thank you so much Mom" when she discovered that I finally emptied the wrapping paper out of the hamper and put it in her room. Never thought one of my children would be grateful that they have a place to put their dirty clothes. They always seem to be scattered all over the floor whether there is a hamper or not.

Kimberly's Baptism Day

Kimberly's baptism day was such a wonderful day and everything turned out perfectly. We started the morning waiting for Grandma & Grandpa K. and Grandma P. to come.

She opened her present from Mom and Dad.

New scriptures with her name embossed!

Grandma P got her a little hymn book.

We got to the Stake Center early and took some pictures.

Then Kimee went in to get changed. She was so excited.

 Kimee and Caroline
Mom gave the talk on baptism (bears), and Caroline's mom gave the talk on the Holy Ghost (flashlight). Kimee's Aunts Jill and Janna did the music. The Primary children sang "I Like to Look for Rainbows" (Kimee even learned how to play it on the piano). Kimberly's dad baptized her and confirmed her a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Uncle David and Uncle Doug were the witnesses. It was a very special service and everyone was so happy to be there to support Kimee. We love you so much!!!!

Afterwards, we had a great luncheon at our home. So many people were able to come.

Later, Grandma K. gave Kimee a really nice book she made with all the pictures from the baptism and the luncheon.

Summer Fun- August

We did some fun things in August, before school started. We went on a hike up to BattleCreek Falls, with some of our favorite people, the Smiths. Afterwards, we came back to our house to visit and eat snacks. It was a great evening.

the view overlooking the valley

I guess I didn't get a picture of the actual falls, it was pretty crowded.

We love relaxing in Daddy's hammock.

I put up the pool in the backyard for a few days. Lots of fun in the sun (and shade)!

The girls love painting and doing crafts.
They bought some new crafts at Roberts with their birthday money.

Kimee and I signed up for an art class in our neighborhood doing mosaic stepping stones. It was really fun doing it together (and Kimee got to stay up late!)

Most exciting, Audrey finally got her cast off on Aug. 19.
