Maddilyn's 2nd Birthday!

We had a fun day for Maddi's birthday while we were on Spring Break.

We started with a yummy breakfast made by Daddy. The girls called it an "IHOP"breakfast: pancakes, bacon, eggs, and OJ.

Then we went swimming. After swimming, we had a treasure hunt.

After the treasure hunt, Maddi opened a couple of presents.

Time for a nap!

In the evening, we had a delicious dinner, opened a couple more presents, and had cupcakes.

P.S. I had been asked if we were doing a family dinner or party for Maddi's birthday. And guess what? We're not! I am taking the year off from birthday parties this year! (Can you tell I am excited about that?)
Next year we will do some fun stuff, but this year I am taking it easy. We will be celebrating birthdays just with our little family. The main reason is because Kimee is getting baptized this year. I decided long ago that in our family on the year of your baptism, there will be no birthday party, so we can focus on the baptism. Since Kimee won't be having a party, the rest of us will do the same. (It's really nice to take a break from big parties every few years.)

Maddilyn

Just before Maddilyn's birthday I thought I'd better take a few pictures and do a post just about Maddi. We absolutely LOVE having Maddilyn in our family. She is so much fun, so sweet, so cute, and everything else.
Maddi loves playing with Playdoh. We got this ice cream set from the Smith's for Christmas, and Maddi wants to play with it almost everyday.
It's really nice that Kimee and Audrey like doing the play-doh too.
All three of them play with it really well together.
Maddi recently has seen mom measuring things, so she wants to measure how tall everyone is. Here she is measuring Kimee.
And you might also notice the marker on her arm. She LOVES markers, but especially when she can write on the table, herself, her clothes, the wall... anything but paper. Drives me crazy!

You're lucky if you can get her to smile for the camera. ONLY when she wants to.

Maddi LOVES jumping on her trampoline that she got for Christmas. We have just left it in the front room and she jumps on it a lot. Audrey loves it too.

 Maddi LOVES her paci.

Maddi is TALKING a ton. She is so polite. She says, "Thank You, Mom." and "Thank you" a lot to almost everyone. She has the cutest little sentences. Each word has a pause in between.
Mom. . .eat. . .breakfast.
MeeMee...play...horses.
Audee... No No.
My daddy. My daddy.
She LOVES her Daddy and loves to cuddle with him and read books with him. Maddi gets really upset if anyone else tries to sit by HER Daddy.

Other cute things she says:
I do it.
appie (apple)
nummie (number)
diapie (diaper)
otay (okay)
oag (for Gogurt)

She pretty much will repeat/say anything you say to her. It's funny because, as an infant she was the quietest of my three girls. But as a toddler, I think she has talked more and sooner than the other two. I guess all that listening she did paid off.

Spring Break- Bear Lake

We had so much fun at Bear Lake (especially once our friends, the Foxes, got there). We were there the first day with just us. Dad took a little nap to recover from the drive up while the girls and I went swimming.

There was lots of time for playing games.

The next morning we went swimming again. It was so nice- we had the pool to ourselves almost every time we went.

We were so happy when the Foxes arrived- someone to play with!!

 Italian night for dinner.

Taking a walk down to the lake and marina.

school stuff

Kimee had crazy hair day at the end of March. Her hair was pretty crazy, but I think she was super cute. She was so nervous when we got to school that no one else would have their hair crazy. But they did!

Audrey makes the cutest stuff at her preschool this year. I took a couple pictures of things she made...

Hundred Day glasses

Leprechaun mask

Maddi wanted her picture taken too.
