Midway

We went on a quick little trip up to Midway on July 31 and combined it with school shopping in Park City on Aug. 1. We were able to snag two condos on special for us and our good friends the Foxes. Swimming at the condo pool is always fun, playing games, and watching a movie. One of the highlights for my kids was going out to lunch in Park City. They talked about that for a long time after.

The girls showing off some of their new outfits after we got home.

I had to say goodbye to shoes I had had for at least 10 years. It was hard. It's like I can never find shoes like my favorites anymore. I haven't ever liked flipflops, but I bought these denim flower ones when I was pregnant with Kimee. My feet got so swollen, I wore flip flops a lot. I was sad to let these go, but since they were completely falling apart, even after having been hot glued a few times, I figured it was time. I had to take a picture to remember these old friends.

July 1

We had the most wonderful family adventure to celebrate our anniversary on July 1.
We planned something we had never done before- gone up to temple square in SLC. And to make it even more fun, we rode on Front Runner to get there! This day couldn't have gone more smoothly (besides missing our train and having to wait another hour to get home).

We started the day by walking through temple square and the north visitor's center. We went to the Tabernacle and listened to the organ practice for a little bit. After that, we went to City Creek mall. We decided spur of the moment to have Maddi get her ears pierced at Claire's. She had been asking for a while, so Dave suggested we do it while we were there. She was so tough, she didn't even cry. The girls had fun playing in the water. Then we had lunch at the food court and played in the splash pad before catching our bus back to the train. We also happened to walk past Steve Young! On the way home, we got off at the station near Pete's house. He picked us up and we had a fun dinner with his family. We had an absolutely wonderful time and I hope the memories we made will last forever!

The only bad thing was that a couple days later, Kimee and Maddi ended up with hand foot and mouth. We were mad at ourselves that we didn't do hand sanitizer or anything before eating lunch, so it was too bad they got sick. One of those unwanted souvenirs:)
