to be famous

Audrey is sitting in the chair and Kimee is using her "new" camera to take Audrey's picture.

Kimee: Audrey, do you want to be really famous?
Audrey: Yes.
Kimee: Then do what I tell you.

haircuts

Kimee, Audrey, and I had a fun date getting our back-to-school hair cut at Wendy's.
Here are a few pictures of our new do's.

Audrey is being silly, as always. Kimee decides to join in...

Zoo & Wolf Creek

We decided to plan a fun weekend just before I had to go back to work. Dave took the day off and we went to the zoo. Then we went up to Wolf Creek for a fun weekend of swimming, relaxing, games, movies, and good food.

Kimee wanted the big elephant, so she was mad she was on the small one.
Our favorite, the train!

There was a lifeguard break when we got to the pool, so we had a few minutes before we could get in the water. I took a few pictures while we waited.
Despite really wanting to go before we got there, neither of the girls could get their courage up to go down the slide. (And parents can't go with them). It sure looks like fun, but it's a little scary when you get to the top!
Maddi finally warmed up in the pool and had fun kicking her legs and playing (not just holding on tight for dear life, like she's done in the past).

I didn't take many pictures at the pool, because I was swimming too. Also, I didn't get pictures in the condo, but Grandma and Grandpa K came up to swim and have a yummy BBQ dinner with us Friday night. Jill, Jeremy, and Jackson came up on Saturday to hang out with us. We had a great time!

Maddilyn: 15 months

Maddilyn went to the doctor for a checkup and some shots just after turning 15 months. She weighed 27 pounds and was 32 1/2 inches tall. She is a big girl (95-96 percentile). Her top two molars have been coming through, and the bottom two are getting close, so she has been a little more cranky than her normal self.

She now does cheesy grins for the camera, it is so funny :)
You can see she is still missing the bottom tooth on her left.

She's 16 months old today and is as cute as ever.
On the down side, she is getting into so much stuff and making messes everywhere!
We all love Maddi and wouldn't trade her for the world!

Birthday BBQ

Every year after the big birthday party, we have a birthday BBQ. This year we were a little small in numbers. We missed you Grandpa, Uncle David, Easton and Skyler :(, but we still had a good time.

We had baby back ribs (a favorite of both Kimee and Audrey), grilled chicken, and other BBQ/summery type foods. And then, of course, chocolate cake from Costco.

Grandma K got here a little late, so she wasn't in the pictures. Sorry!
Kimberly is 7 and Audrey is 4!

The girls loved the presents they got from their cousins and Grandmas. At their friend party, they collected donations for the National Wildlife Federation, instead of gifts. From mom and dad, they both got a Barbie from the Barbie and the Three Musketeers movie and a new horse toy- Kimee a Jeep and trailer, and Audrey a horse with shower set.
Thanks everyone for making this a special birthday!!!

Kimee and Audrey's Birthday

We had such a fun day on Kimberly and Audrey's birthday. It started with Kimee's choice of eggs, bacon, and pancakes for breakfast.  Then we started setting up for the party. Some of our favorite cousins were here to help out (thank you so much!). Corndogs were Audrey's choice for lunch, followed by a movie to relax a little before the chaos started. Dave and I finished getting things ready, including making the beignets (ben-yays) to serve at Tiana's Palace.

Then the party started. We had a Princess and the Frog party since the movie is still pretty new, the girls love it, and we could include water! When the guests got here, they had to kiss a frog. Then they entered the bayou, where they played several frog games and got to go down the waterslide.

Once they completed everything in the bayou, including making a wish on the evening star, they had to get a kiss to turn back into a prince or princess.  Then the could do the princess activities and eat at Tiana's Palace.

At the end, we sang "Happy Birthday" and had frog cupcakes.

It was such a fun party! Thanks to everyone who helped and who came to celebrate these amazing girls! We love Kimee and Audrey so much!
