4th of July

Our 4th of July tradition is to go to the parade in Provo with the Smiths. Lots of cousins, friends and neighbors join us at the awesome spot they stake out. This year grandma and grandpa came along too. We have the best time visiting while waiting for the parade to start. And then there's lots of hooting and hollering throughout. This year we decided to try and get there a little earlier, and got stuck behind the freedom run. We had to wait in the van for quite a while. We told ourselves, next year we will just come at our normal later time.
Kimee ran out and gave gummy bears to the missionaries.

After the parade, we go cool ourselves off and eat lunch at the Brick Oven. They have the best root beer, pizza, bread sticks, and salad bar.
When we got home, I had planned to spend the afternoon making birdhouses to put up in the backyard. We had gotten a really cute one at City Creek, and I had printed out some ideas for a few different styles. We all worked on them, using old wood from the shed and other house projects. Audrey even made her very own!

That night we did sparklers in the cul-de-sac with our neighbors. And later, we drove down to a church parking lot and watched the fireworks from the back of the truck and we got home really quick cause only a couple other cars were there. It was fun!
