We have had a very fun first week of December. On Wednesday, we went to "Family Night" at the Festival of Trees. I think I took Kimee when she was maybe 2, so a trip up was overdue. The kids were amazed at all the trees. Audrey was really upset that all we were doing was looking. I think she thought "festival" meant we would be doing some activities or games. We did get yummy cinnamon rolls and delicious, fresh caramel apples. We didn't have time to see all the trees, but some of our favorites were one with a really cool playhouse, camping, Build-a-Bears at the Masquerade Ball, and Monsters University. It was really crowded up there, so just getting around all the people took time. It was a great way to start off our Christmas.
On Friday, Kimee had her orchestra Christmas concert at school. Afterwards, we got to go to the North Pole on the Stringtown Train. It was wonderful and amazing. Maddi's favorite part was the train, Kimee's was the pictures of Jesus growing up, and Audrey's was the North Pole and Santa. Afterwards we went and had a pizza and movie night in mom's classroom. We watched Swan Princess Christmas and The Search for Santa Paws while mom tried to get caught up.
Saturday morning, we got up bright and early to head to Thanksgiving Point for the annual AEA movie. We got to see Disney's new movie, Frozen. We all LOVED it! We can't wait to get the soundtrack and DVD when it comes out. We weren't surprised to find it totally snowing hard when we got out of the movie.
After playing, sledding, shoveling, and hot tubbing in the snow all day, with hot chocolate breaks in between; it is now time for a fire, roasting hot dogs and marshmallows, and another Christmas movie.
Life is so good!
