projects and more projects

Before we moved in, we started with projects in the yard. We gave the previous owners 30 days to move out, since the home they were supposed to move into fell through. So for 30 days, we worked in the yard, and also worked on packing up our things and getting our house spic and span for renters

On the ward's day of service in October, many people came over and cut down trees in the yard. It was amazing the help we received, and the difference it made. We also had a few people from the ward bring us meals during the move. It was so nice! We are so grateful for all of the help we received. We could have never done it without the service that was given. And this home now holds our memories of all those helping hands.

We had a tree service come in a grind up all the stumps in the yard- there were over 20. Dave can't wait to get the lawn looking lush and green this summer.

Our good friends, the Foxes, couldn't wait to come over to rip out a wall. This was one of four walls that we took out. My dad redid all of the electrical and my brother put in the new walls and doors where they needed to be.

The floor in the kitchen was a HUGE pain to take out, prepping for tile. We had decided pretty much at the last minute to do the kitchen along with the bathrooms before moving in. Boy, am I glad we did. That would have been such a pain to do while living here. But we really needed a couple of weeks to get it ready, not a couple of days. Once again, with the help of some very kind neighbors and friends, we were able to get it done.

The upstairs bathroom had carpet next to the tub, as well a old linoleum under that. It was pretty nasty.

Afterwards, with the new tile in.

This is the master bathroom/closet with the new tile in.

We took out a wall in the basement. It's now opened up for a new toy room.

Thankfully, my friend Mary Jane likes to paint. We had a couple of fun days painting and visiting.
