Mothers & Fathers Day

We have a tradition in our family to take each child's picture with mom/dad on Mothers/Fathers Day. This year, we had our family pictures taken the day before Mother's Day, so we decided to call it good.

I love my girls so much and am so glad that I was given the chance to be a mom.

On Father's Day, we gave Daddy a chocolate cake and lit three candles, one for each child.

We had a really nice dinner of steak and all the fixin's. We ate outside, despite the 95 degree weather. It wasn't too bad in the shade. Kimee and Audrey were playing zoo animals.  They used Swicey's outside tie up and hooked it to their shirts. We had two out there because we were babysitting Sky for a day (that's a whole other story). After dinner, I asked the girls to remove the leash and take some food back into the house. Kimee did, but Audrey forgot to remove the leash. She was taking some food in, when she hit the end of the leash. It was attached to her shirt collar and she was going fast enough that it pulled her back hard, and the back of her head landed on the concrete. She cried really hard. I ran upstairs to get an ice pack and Tylenol while she waited on the couch. When I got back down, I saw blood on her shirt. I did not realize, until then, that it broken the skin. I had just figured she would have a bump on her head. Well, apparently, it had been gushing out blood for the minute or two it took me to get upstairs and back. Both her shirts were covered around the collar. We got some paper towels and ice on it. We thought we would wait for it to stop and then assess the situation. It ended up being a very small spot, but it must have been right on a blood vessel.

Audrey's hair before rinsing it out.

If you look close, you can see the spot.

Thank goodness everything was OK and we didn't have to go into the emergency room. Scary end to a lovely day!
